Allergy Season in Full Swing
‘Tis the season…for sneezing! In addition to beautiful weather and budding flowers and trees, spring often brings seasonal allergies. Many people experience allergy symptoms during the spring, primarily due to increased flower pollen. Environmental allergies can actually occur at any time during the year: spring brings flower pollen, the summer culprit is usually grass, ragweed may bother some in the fall, and mold becomes a problem during the winter. Common symptoms include sneezing, runny nose, and itchy, watery eyes. Most of these symptoms can be controlled with over-the-counter medications, such as Claritin or Benadryl, but when the symptoms are not relieved by these measures, it is time to visit your doctor!
